It is a widespread belief that regulating your insulin production (to limit it) promotes fat oxidation. This is not true and it comes from two misunderstandings:
- The fact that more insulin production decreases fat oxidation, which is not a causality relation but a consequence: eating increases insulin to deal with the glucose, and the fat oxidation is limited because the body was just fed.
- A fake causality between correctly regulating oneself insulin and a loss of weight, which is caused because it is necessary to limit carbohydrate intake to regulate insulin (provoking a caloric deficit, which leads to weight loss).
