Properties2
| Type | Practice |
| Note created | May 7, 2026 |
PCSX2’s blending accuracy setting controls how accurately it emulates the PS2’s alpha blending (transparency, shadows, fog). Higher values fix visual glitches at the cost of GPU performance.
Levels
| Level | Use case |
|---|---|
| Minimum | Fastest, broken visuals in many games |
| Basic | Fixes some issues, still light |
| Medium | Good balance for weaker GPUs |
| High | Recommended default — fixes most games, reasonable cost |
| Full | Pixel-perfect, only needed for a handful of games |
High is the sweet spot. Set it globally and only change per-game: bump to Full if a game still looks wrong, drop to Medium if a game runs too slow.
Changing in RetroBat
- Navigate to the PS2 game list (or select a specific game for per-game settings)
- Press Start > Game Settings > Visual Rendering (or Advanced Settings)
- Find Blending Accuracy and set to High
Setting it through RetroBat’s menu is important because RetroBat overrides PCSX2’s own settings.ini on each launch.
