Raster data is a type of data that uses a grid of cells or pixels to represent the information. Probably the most common example of raster data are images.
Another common definition for raster data is geographical raster data, where each pixel is associated to represent a piece of land. Common sources of these types of raster data include remote sensing or satellite data.
