Oil on canvas, 37 1/2 × 37 1/4 in. (95.3 × 94.6 cm). One of the most important of Picasso’s Blue Period canvases, depicting a blind man at a table holding bread in his left hand while reaching for a jug of wine with his right. A remarkable restatement of the Christian sacrament in contemporary terms. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
